We’re looking for a strong and trusted Senior Software Engineer who operates independently and takes full ownership of technical components and initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a strong sense of responsibility, collaboration, and mentorship.
You will play a key role in delivering complex projects, shaping technical direction within your domain, and raising the bar for engineering quality across the team.
What will you be doing?
- Take full ownership of significant components or services, driving them from design to production with minimal direction.
- Be a go-to expert in one area of the codebase while maintaining awareness of system-wide architecture.
- Apply technical expertise and domain knowledge to solve complex problems requiring creativity and sound engineering judgment.
- Plan and execute major assignments or multiple concurrent projects, balancing pace, quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Serve as a technical contact on cross-functional projects, coordinating with product, design, and other teams.
- Mentor and uplift the team through code reviews, documentation, guidance, and technical leadership on project delivery.
- Make others better by offering thoughtful technical feedback, contributing to standards, and championing best practices.
What skills & experience do you need?
- Advanced expertise in JavaScript / TypeScript, with strong experience building scalable backend services using Node.js.
- Strong proficiency with frontend frameworks such as React and modern web development patterns.
- Experience with scalable cloud infrastructure and AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, RDS), CI/CD pipelines, and production deployments.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, modern database systems (SQL or NoSQL), and distributed system challenges.
Ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs between performance, reliability, and speed of delivery.
Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide others technically.
- Experience with GraphQL, API integrations, feature flagging systems, or server-side rendering frameworks.
This role is hybrid, expected to come in the office each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to collaborate and stay connected.
